OPEN YOUR EYE’S ALBUM ART

 

The Beginning

Madison and I first had the pleasure of meeting over social media back in 2020. She had reached out because of our shared name. It sparked a continued conversation over the last two years.

 

2022

Summer of 2022, Madison and I collaborated on album art for her new song release, Open Your Eyes. After listening to the song and being familiar with Madisons past work, I wanted to incorporate elements that were bright, bold, and moving.

Colors:

Madisons musical style is bright, catching your attention in vibrant rock notes and ballads. She brings in an element of boldness through her lyrics and message she all ties into a moving melody.

Focused on something eye-catching, I wanted to create contrast using cool and warm colors. The songs message includes rhetoric around Earth and the negative environmental changes caused by neglect. I incorporated familiar earth-hued colors clashing with the fire-hued colors.

Texture:

The movement was another visual element that I wanted to show through the song artwork. It is what would visualize Madisons lyrical message and demand for change.

I incorporated movement within the background of the image. Interchanging the Earth colors with the Fire colors creates the force of these colors merging. It reminds you that once these colors are mixed, you can not un-mix them as some changes are irreversible if not stopped now.

Illustration:

Madison wanted to incorporate eyes in some way. Using original illustrations, I overlaid a pair of eyes to the background to make it look like they are, melting or crying. It brings the visual element of urgency and consideration. Why are they crying? Or are they being consumed?

The Final Print

We finalized the artwork and uploaded the song with the selected Album cover. The album art is on all music streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

Madison’s song ‘Open Your Eyes’ has over 13k streams since launching on August 12th, 2022. Featuring on popular Spotify playlists such as:

  • Modern Blues Rock and have over 133k listeners

  • Cutting Edge Blues with over 9k listeners
